Lately, I’ve been struggling with the fact that I am currently a non-practicing artist. (Egads! 😳) Over these past six or so years, as I wrote and promoted my book, I’ve been naturally drawn toward the art form of writing as my primary form of self-expression. I’ve always considered myself both a writer and a visual artist, ever since I was a young child tucked away in my bedroom with my clunky, beige typewriter and the box of 120 colors of Crayola crayons.
As you may know, I moved into a new home over this past summer. Luckily, there’s an extra room in the house that I was able to designate as my art studio. (Sure, I share the room with my cats’ litter boxes and a ginormous cat perch, but still… an art studio!) Truly, I’m sad to say that in these past 4+ months here, I’ve only sat at that art table to write cards and wrap gifts. I’m now in a place of genuinely craving colorful creation and thirsting for igniting visual beauty! That’s where YOU come in…

watching: Wayward on Netflix. I am highly sensitive, but I’m also a Mae Martin fan. This is why I was initially torn about watching a limited series labeled as a “mystery-thriller” for fear my nervous system would be too disrupted to go to sleep after, but Diana and I made it through all eight episodes. beginning to celebrate: my 50th birthday! My actual birthday is next month on the winter solstice, but we officially began the golden jubilee celebrations this past weekend… 💫
